EliteGrind Lab covers games worth learning properly, and builds a few of its own. It is an independent fan site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for any game developer or publisher.

What this site is for

Most coverage of an unreleased game is speculation with a confident voice. The reveal trailer gets read frame by frame, someone's guess becomes a headline, and six months later that guess is being cited as a fact the developer "confirmed". That process produces a great deal of content and almost no information.

This site takes the opposite approach. Everything published before a game ships is dated, cites where it came from, and states on its face whether the developer actually confirmed it. Nothing here is called a guide until there is a game to write a guide about.

Systems, not metas

The coverage is systems-first: how a game's mechanics actually work and why they were built that way, rather than which build is currently strongest. Metas expire in a patch. Understanding why a system behaves the way it does does not.

Who writes it

One person, playing the games and reading the primary sources. Where a claim comes from a developer statement, a patch note, or a corporate filing, that source is linked. Where it comes from the community, it is labelled unconfirmed and left that way until someone official says otherwise.

That also means this site is not comprehensive and does not pretend to be. It covers a small number of games in depth rather than every game shallowly.

The Lab

The Game Lab is where browser games built here go to be played. They are free, need no account, and save progress in your own browser. A game goes up when it is still enjoyable after its author is sick of playing it, which is a low bar in principle and a surprisingly high one in practice.

Building games is also why the coverage reads the way it does. It is easier to explain why a system works when you have had to make one behave.

How it pays for itself

Display advertising, eventually. There are no affiliate links on this site and nothing is for sale here — no products, no memberships, no sponsored guides. Nothing you read here is written because something paid to be recommended.
