Chromie Time: Warlords of Draenor
Updated 2026-09-22 · checked against Midnight 12.1
An Iron Horde that never fell, a Draenor that never broke, and a fort of your own to run it from. Draenor gives every alt a garrison, and it has a reputation as the quickest of the nine, which comes with a caveat below.
How it starts
Warlords of Draenor: The Dark Portal comes from Chromie, or from the Hero’s Call Board or Warchief’s Command Board. It sends you to Khadgar at the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands. The next quest, Azeroth’s Last Stand, is the Tanaan Jungle intro, and it ends with your garrison being built.
Two things about that start:
- It gets in the way of the Iron Horde Invasion chain. While The Dark Portal is in your quest log, those quests are blocked.
- Tanaan can be skipped. Abandon the quest before the portal, walk through, and pick up the new quest on the far side. Players report that it works and that it costs a lot of experience. There is no Blizzard word on it.
Where it takes you
Your garrison zone first: Shadowmoon Valley for Alliance, Frostfire Ridge for Horde. Then:
- Gorgrond
- Talador
- Spires of Arak
- Nagrand
Every zone has bonus objectives. Those are why Draenor was measured as the fastest campaign, but that measurement is from 2020, before two level squishes. Spires of Arak does not need its quests done in sequence. Whether the whole zone order is free is unconfirmed.
Dungeons you can queue for
While you are in the campaign, the group finder offers this expansion’s dungeons. Raids and Mythic dungeons are off limits until you leave Chromie Time, and some Heroics refuse entry below a set level.
| Instance | Type |
|---|---|
| Auchindoun | Dungeon |
| Bloodmaul Slag Mines | Dungeon |
| Grimrail Depot | Dungeon |
| Iron Docks | Dungeon |
| Shadowmoon Burial Grounds | Dungeon |
| Skyreach | Dungeon |
| The Everbloom | Dungeon |
| Upper Blackrock Spire | Dungeon |
| Draenor | Raid |
| Highmaul | Raid |
| Blackrock Foundry | Raid |
| Hellfire Citadel | Raid |
The Iron Horde version of Upper Blackrock Spire counts as a Draenor dungeon, even though it sits in the Eastern Kingdoms.
What carries across your account
- The Garrison Hearthstone is a toy since patch 10.1.5, from the quest Establish Your Garrison. It does nothing for a character without a garrison.
- Draenor reputations are not warband-wide. None are in the announced batches.
What this campaign puts in reach
Counting…
Counts are a floor, not a total. The expansion is not recorded for every collectible, and many source lines name a boss without a zone. "Missing" uses what you have ticked on the mounts, pets and toys pages, in this browser.
Where the sources disagree
- How far Chromie Time goes. Everyone agrees you can start a campaign up to about level 68–69. Whether you then stay scaled to 80 or are moved on at 70 is disputed: the wiki says 80, two levelling guides say 70, and there is no Blizzard patch note either way.
