Two small chains: coffee and Kupo Nuts

Morrid’s coffees — and the deadline
An old man called Morrid watches the sky from Observatory Mountain, near Dali, and would like three rare coffees. Bring him all three and he gives you a model of the Prima Vista, which is sent to the Tantalus hideout in Lindblum.
All three must be delivered before Disc 3 ends. Observatory Mountain is one of the places the Shimmering Island seals, and on Disc 4 there is no man and no mountain. The reward is a trinket and an achievement; the deadline is real.
| Coffee | Where | When |
|---|---|---|
| Moccha | South Gate, the Bohden Arch — by the water, across the river north of Chocobo’s Forest | Disc 1 onward |
| Kirman | Madain Sari, Eiko’s kitchen — the left side, among the cooking things | The Disc 2 visit |
| Burman | Dali — take the Mayor’s Key from the heater in the mayor’s house, open the Chocobo’s Pen, then examine the treasure chest twice | The Disc 3 return |
The Burman is the awkward one, and the “examine it twice” is not a figure of speech — the coffee is underneath.
Our data agrees, and names the key as well
Three consecutive unnamed key-item ids sit at exactly those three rooms, one each: South Gate’s Bohden Arch, Madain Sari’s kitchen, and the Dali mayor’s house. Each room holds exactly one of them, and each is a room a publisher names precisely — which is the condition under which we are willing to assign members rather than just a set.
There is a fourth id in the mayor’s house, and the script tells you what it is: it is awarded immediately before the coffee, a hundred and ten bytes earlier, in the same block. Key first, then the thing the key opens. That one is the Mayor’s Key.
The Moccha and Kirman ids each appear twice, once per visit block — an award is evidence about the room, not the visit, and there is still only one of each coffee.
Kupo Nuts — one good item per disc
Moguta lives in Gizamaluke’s Grotto with his wife Mogmi, and he wants Kupo Nuts. You are given one by a moogle at various points, as long as you are not already carrying one, so the supply is really a function of talking to moogles — which the Mognet chain has you doing anyway.
One worthwhile reward per disc:
| Disc | Reward |
|---|---|
| 1 | Holy Bell |
| 2 | Elixir |
| 3 | Extension |
| 4 | Aloha T-Shirt |
After those, further nuts pay out Tents, Phoenix Pinions and Ethers at random.
There is no deadline, but the rewards are per-disc, so a nut delivered on Disc 4 cannot collect the Disc 1 prize. Hand in at least one on every disc and the chain looks after itself.
The Extension is the one worth going out of your way for — it is otherwise a 3,500-gil synthesis. The Aloha T-Shirt is a joke, and it is the end of a chain that runs the whole game, so collect it.
Why these two are on one page
Neither is big enough for its own guide and both fail the same way: they are made of single actions spread very thin.
Three coffees across three discs and three continents, with the last one under a chest, behind a key, in a heater. A nut handed to a moogle once per disc. Neither has a quest log, a marker, or a character who reminds you.
The coffees are the ones that actually get lost, and it is worth being precise about why: the deadline is not the quest’s, it is the map’s. Morrid does not leave. Observatory Mountain stops existing, along with Conde Petie, the Desert Palace, Esto Gaza, Mount Gulug, Fossil Roo, both Gates, the Iifa Tree and Pinnacle Rocks, the moment you pass the Shimmering Island — and the coffee quest goes quietly with it, on a list that mostly gets remembered for the shopping.
