The thirteen Stellazzio

Updated 2026-09-20

Thirteen zodiac coins, hidden one per location across the whole game. You take them to Queen Stella, in Treno, and she pays per coin on an escalating ladder that ends in a Hammer.

Most collection quests in this game punish you for not knowing they exist. This one is unusually forgiving — twelve of the thirteen can be picked up at any time, including on the last disc. There is one exception, and it is the whole reason to read this page before Disc 3 rather than after.

The coin with a window

Leo is in Alexandria Castle, and the castle shuts.

It is on Disc 3, in the castle’s tower — the room on the left with the floating statue, upper right corner. That is the visit during the coronation. After the attack on Alexandria, only the town is walkable; the castle interior, the library and the guardhouse are all closed, and they do not reopen.

Get Leo while you are in the castle. Everything else on this list will wait for you.

All thirteen

Coin Where Exactly Our area
Aries Dali the windmill, behind the central pillar 4
Taurus Treno the slums, behind the item shop, by a crate 11
Gemini Treno the entrance fountain — throw 10 gil in, thirteen times 11
Cancer Burmecia second screen, behind a crate 9
Leo Alexandria Castle Disc 3 only — tower, left-hand room with the floating statue, upper right 25
Virgo Black Mage Village the inn, next to the beds 18
Libra Madain Sari second screen, north side of the fountain 21
Scorpio Quan’s Dwelling first room, down the rope, south of the spring 27
Sagittarius Lindblum Business District, in the debris on the left 16
Capricorn Daguerreo first room, bottom right, along the watery path 41
Aquarius Ipsen’s Castle first room, chest on the right behind a pillar 35
Pisces The Invincible a chest inside the airship 40
Ophiuchus Quan’s Dwelling only after the other twelve are handed in 27

Two of these catch people out for reasons other than timing.

Gemini is not lying on the ground. You throw money into the Treno fountain — 10 gil at a time, thirteen times — and it comes back out. Nobody finds that by walking around.

Pisces is inside your own airship. Seven screens, one chest, and it is the coin most players finish the game without, because an airship is something you fly rather than a place you search.

The thirteenth needs a second trip

Ophiuchus does not exist until you have turned in the other twelve. Queen Stella then tells you where it is, and it is back at Quan’s Dwelling, in the same spot Scorpio was.

So the quest cannot be finished in one visit to Treno, and the last leg is a return trip to a cave you have not thought about in twenty hours. Plan for it.

What Queen Stella pays

One reward per coin handed in, in this order:

Coins Reward
1 1,000 gil
2 Phoenix Pinion
3 2,000 gil
4 Blood Sword
5 5,000 gil
6 Elixir
7 10,000 gil
8 Black Belt
9 20,000 gil
10 Rosetta Ring
11 30,000 gil
12 Robe of Lords
13 Hammer

68,000 gil, a Blood Sword, a Black Belt, a Rosetta Ring, a Robe of Lords and a Hammer.

The Rosetta Ring and the Robe of Lords are the ones worth planning around — both are endgame-grade, and both arrive well before the endgame if you have been collecting as you go. Hand coins in as you get them rather than saving them up; the ladder pays by count, not by completion, so there is nothing to gain by holding them.

The data side, and why this table can be trusted

The game stores the thirteen coins as thirteen consecutive key item ids, in zodiac order — Aries first, Ophiuchus thirteenth.

We worked that ordering out early and refused to publish it for twenty chapters, because a count of thirteen ids matching a set of thirteen coins tells you what a block of ids is and not which id is which. Ordering was a guess.

What broke it was a room with exactly one chest in it. The Invincible holds a single award in seven screens, and its id is the twelfth in the block. The twelfth sign is Pisces, and every publisher puts Pisces in an Invincible chest. Daguerreo’s entrance gave a second single-coin room at position ten: Capricorn.

With two anchors we ran the whole table. Ten of the thirteen can be checked against a published location, and all ten match. None miss.

There is one further thing in the data worth knowing, because it explains why this quest feels different from the others: all thirteen ids also appear at Treno’s Queen’s House. The game records thirteen pickup points and one receiver, which is exactly the shape of the quest — and it is why there is no hidden second turn-in, no alternate reward branch, and nothing else to find.

The three coins we cannot confirm from our side — Cancer, Leo and Sagittarius — are, in the published record, behind a crate, in a corner and in some debris. They are hidden examine-spots rather than chests, and our award table does not resolve those. The locations above come from the guides, which agree with each other.

If you are reading this late

You have almost certainly not lost anything except possibly Leo. Check Alexandria Castle if you can still get in. If you cannot, the other twelve are still collectable and the ladder still pays for every one of them — you simply stop at twelve rewards instead of thirteen.

That is worth saying plainly, because this game has trained anyone who reads missables lists to assume the worst. On this particular quest, the worst is unusually mild.
