The Remiem Temple Guide for Final Fantasy X
Updated 2026-10-10
Full spoilers.
Remiem Temple sits in a hidden valley off the Calm Lands. The airship’s search will not find it — you ride in. Three things happen here:
- A chocobo race that pays the Cloudy Mirror, the first step toward every celestial weapon, plus a ladder of item prizes.
- Belgemine’s aeon gauntlet: her versions of every aeon you own, one at a time, for prizes that include the Flower Scepter and Yuna’s Moon Sigil.
- The sealed door behind her, which opens on the Magus Sisters.
Al Bhed Primer Vol. XXIV is here too, outside the temple on its west side.
Getting there
- In the Calm Lands, clear the chocobo trainer’s first course (Wobbly Chocobo). The chocobo training guide has the details. That is all you need to ride.
- Ask her for a chocobo and ride toward the southern end of the plains, near the way in from the Highbridge. Look for a feather marker by a broken bridge on the south-eastern side.
- Press confirm beside the feather. The chocobo flies you to a ledge; a second feather takes you down into the hidden valley.
- Follow the crevasse to the temple. There is a Save Sphere on the way.
You can do this on your first visit to the Calm Lands, and grab the Primer then. The race is easy enough to win early too. Belgemine’s gauntlet and the Magus Sisters are endgame.
The chocobo race
A sphere on the ground on the west side of the temple explains the rules; the chocobo perched on the east side starts the race.
You race another chocobo to the centre of the course. Treasure chests float along the way; open one and you are warped further down the track. Touch a pole and you are out of the chest prizes for that run. The more chests you open on a winning run, the better the prize:
| Chests on a winning run | Prize |
|---|---|
| 0 | Potion |
| 1 | Elixir |
| 2 | Megalixir |
| 3 | Wings to Discovery x30 |
| 4 | Pendulum x30 |
| 5 | Three Stars x60 |
Every prize except the Potion pays out once. You can win them in any order, so take the three-chest run first (it is easier) and come back for the others.
The Cloudy Mirror is given the first time you win — any number of chests. That is all the celestial weapon chain needs from here.
What to grab and why:
- Wings to Discovery x30 — two of them together in Rikku’s Mix make Trio of 9999, which pushes every hit and heal your party makes to 9,999 for a few turns. Thirty of them is fifteen mixes.
- Three Stars x60 — reduces MP costs to zero for a while; also a customisation ingredient.
- Pendulum x30 — the ingredient for Master Thief and other high-end customisation.
Chests and timing. Chests appear at set points and each has a window: the first must be opened very early, around seven seconds in. Hold up straight after opening each chest so the bird starts running again at once. Use the d-pad. If you are behind at the fourth chest, let that run go.
Chocobo Master unlocks for opening all five chests and still winning.
Belgemine’s gauntlet
Belgemine waits inside the temple. Talk to her to fight her aeons, one aeon against one aeon — the party does not take part. Yuna summons, and you can swap aeons mid-fight as normal.
The rules:
- You fight her aeons in a fixed order, and you can only face one you already own yourself.
- Each first win pays a prize. Rematches pay smaller ones.
- If you skipped her earlier duels, beating her Valefor here hands over the Summoner’s Soul and beating her Ifrit the Aeon’s Soul.
| Order | Her aeon | First win | Good answer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Valefor | Lightning Gem x4 | Anything strong; Ixion if you want an elemental edge |
| 2 | Ifrit | X-Potion x30 | Shiva |
| 3 | Ixion | Chocobo Feather x10 | Bahamut |
| 4 | Shiva | Mega-Potion x60 | Ifrit, or Anima; she dodges a lot of physical attacks |
| 5 | Bahamut | Flower Scepter | Anima if you have her |
| 6 | Yojimbo | Shadow Gem x8 | Anima or the Magus Sisters |
| 7 | Anima | Stamina Spring x60 | The Magus Sisters |
| 8 | Magus Sisters | Shining Gem x40, then the Moon Sigil | Anima’s Overdrive |
How to win them. Her aeons are far stronger than they were on the road. What makes the gauntlet easy is Yuna’s own stats — aeons scale off her — so it is much easier late in the game with Yuna’s sphere grid well developed. Teach your aeons Haste and Protect through the Summoner’s Soul, use Boost to build Overdrives, and hold them for the moment you need a burst. Anima is the best single tool: Oblivion ends most of these fights.
Rematch prizes: Valefor pays Power Spheres, Ifrit Mana Spheres, Ixion Power Spheres, Shiva Star Curtains, Bahamut Mana Spheres, Yojimbo Power Spheres and Anima Mana Spheres.
The Moon Sigil
Beat her Magus Sisters and she asks Yuna to send her. Agree and you get the Moon Sigil for Yuna’s celestial weapon, Nirvana. Sending her is permanent: Belgemine is gone and the gauntlet is over. Collect every first-win prize you want before that last fight.
The Magus Sisters
The door behind Belgemine is sealed. It opens only when you have all four of:
| Requirement | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Flower Scepter | Beat Belgemine’s Bahamut (fight 5) |
| Blossom Crown | The Monster Arena owner, once you have captured one of every fiend on Mt. Gagazet — the mountain trail, the caves and the underwater section all count |
| Yojimbo | Hired in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth |
| Anima | Baaj Temple, once all six Destruction Sphere treasures from the Cloisters of Trials are yours |
Offer the Scepter and the Crown at the door and walk into the Chamber of the Fayth. Yuna receives the Magus Sisters, and Delta Attack! unlocks. A chest in the chamber holds a Defense Sphere.
The Monster Arena guide covers the captures, the Anima guide covers Baaj Temple, and the Yojimbo hire is on the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth page.
Using the Sisters
You do not command the three sisters directly. You give orders and each one decides what to do with them:
- Fight! — physical attacks only.
- Do as you will — anything goes; often the best general order.
- Go, go! (Cindy) — her offensive magic and skills.
- Help each other! (Cindy) — healing and revives for her sisters.
- Defense! (Sandy) — protective magic.
- Are you alright? (Mindy) — drain HP and MP from enemies.
- One more time — repeat their last action, usually.
- Combine powers! — Delta Attack, available only when all three Overdrive gauges are full and none of them is Cursed. In this version it hits every enemy six times.
They are unpredictable, but Delta Attack and Mindy’s Doublecast hit hard. In Belgemine’s last fight and against the Dark Aeons, Anima is still the more reliable damage.
Order of play
- First Calm Lands visit: ride in, take Primer XXIV, win the race for the Cloudy Mirror. Belgemine can wait.
- With the airship: come back for the three-chest prize (Wings to Discovery) and, if you want the achievement, the five-chest run.
- Endgame: hire Yojimbo, earn Anima, fill the Gagazet captures for the Blossom Crown. Then run Belgemine’s gauntlet up to Bahamut, open the door, and finish with Yojimbo, Anima and the Sisters.
- Last: send Belgemine for the Moon Sigil.
